Bear Lake

On Thursday a bunch of my family headed to Bear Lake to see my Uncle Gary and to spend time at the beach. It was a nice day and we were able to have lunch outside. I was able to ride in my Grandpas convertible which gave me a little tan. It was fun to be able to spend the day at Bear Lake with some of my favorite people.

I only have a few pictures below because my camera ran out of battery before we got to the beach. So, these are the pictures I took before we went to the Lake. I took the beach pictures on my Uncles camera. Enjoy!

Logan, UT

This past week I had to privilege of going and visiting my family in Utah. I was so excited to see them and spend quality time with them. As an added bonus, my cousin Dan was there with his wife Danika and their son Luke, AND my cousin Katie was also there with her kids (which is rare because they live out of state).

Needless to say, I was VERY excited to see them!!! The first day I arrived there My Aunt Cindy, Uncle Rick, Dan, Danika, Kristin, Cory, Braden, Luke and I ALL went to the Parade of houses. Some of the houses were INSANELY HUGE!!!

The picture above is one of the houses that was nearly 10,000 square feet!!! It was CRAZY! It took SO long to walk through it! My cousin Cory did the cabinetry for the house so it was REALLY neat to see his work (Lets just say, I would ABSOLUTELY hire him).

On Wednesday I went to lunch with my two favorite aunts and my cousins Dan, Danika and Luke. We went to a place in Logan called Costa Vida's. It was really yummy! Here are some pictures of the day!

Happy Dad's Day!

Happy Fathers Day to all of the Fathers out there!!!

For Fathers day David and I started by going to his parents house to hang out. We sat in the backyard and just hung out in the shade while the puppies played. It is always nice to have some quality time with family.

After we spent some time with them, we went over to my parents house where my mom and I prepared a Fathers Day dinner complete with Steaks, Asparagus, Zucchini, Garlic Bread and salad. It came out really good.

We got to watch the Lakers beat the Celtics for the opportunity to go back to Boston and finish the series (even though Dave says the Lakers have NO chance)

The day was really great! David and I are so lucky to have such GREAT dads!!!

VrooM VrooM!

On Friday, my dad asked me to go to Wall-Mart with him to get some things. He needed my help because my mom was at work and he is almost unable to walk due to severe back problems. (He is currently on a leave from work and will not be even thinking about going back until July.) So, I decided I should help the poor guy out, although I thought it was silly he wanted to go when I could just go get it for him (I think he has been really bored since he has been cooped up in the house lying flat on his back).

So, as we were walking into Wall-Mart I noticed he was walking really bad. He literally looked like an elderly person. So I suggested he get one of those driving wheel chair carts to sit in. He refused saying "I don't need that, I will be fine."

Now picture this... We are in the store (with him walking VERY slow) and right when we are in the middle of the store he sees a display for camping chairs and sits down. He said he couldn't walk anymore. Now I am stuck in the middle of the store with him, and he is unable to walk.

I decided then, that I should go and get that cart wheel chair thing and bring it to him so that if nothing else, he could make it back to the car. I walk to the front and told the greeter my situation. She told me to go ahead and take the motorized cart to him. I decided that to avoid looking like an idiot I would just walk it to him. (Little did I know, this was not a possibility) Apparently, those stupid carts are weight sensitive, therefore requiring you to be sitting in it for it to move.

So, I was forced to drive the wheel chair through the store at less than 1 mph. I felt like such an idiot. I cannot tell you how many people looked at me like "What the heck are you in that for?" Lets just say it was wonderful to make it to my dad!!! I rescued him, after he got a good laugh at me, and after that he was good for the next hour.

This is my dad in all his glory. He said that he wants his own. We decided he could soup it up and add some awesome features to it. I told him that I would personally add some hydraulics, a rhinestone plated license plate and perhaps some pink streamers adorning the handle bars...

For those of you who don't know I LOVE Fancy Nancy! Fancy Nancy is a children's story book character who LOVES fancy things (If you haven't read it, you should, especially if you have a little girl) She is the epitome of a princess, and her books are full of fluff and tiaras.

Anyways, I have been having the urge to start a hobby. I have been reading, but needed something else to keep me busy while David studies. I decided to start painting. I got the idea from a friend of mine who I have a lot in common with. She really enjoys it, and I thought it looked fun. So, on Saturday I decided to go to Michael's Craft Store and buy a canvas, some acrylic paint and some paint brushes. A few hours later this is what I had...

David insisted I get a picture of this. He thought it was really cool that you could see the silhouette of her...

This is the final product... Not too bad for my first painting! (The only problem is that now I don't know what to do with it...haha)

June 4th 2008 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!

(Yes, I am aware my punk brother is flipping the camera off...leave it to him)

My moms birthday was June 4th. She is now a whopping 44 years young. I am so amazed at how young she is. It is amazing that at 44 you can have an almost 22 year old and an almost 21 year old.

For my moms birthday we went to the new P.F. Chang's, an Asian style restaurant. The food was AMAZING. I am so excited that Chino Hills finally has their restaurant.

I always try to make my moms birthday special, so I plan the gifts (from me, my dad, AND my brother), get the cake, set the activity, etc.

This year I decided to get a cake from the same Italian bakery I usually do. When I called, I told the woman I needed a small cake for my moms birthday. After it was ordered I told her what I wanted written on it "Happy Birthday Sheryl!" She then asked me if Sheryl was spelled with a "C" or an "S". I let her know it was an "S". She then said that cake was small so she may have to write it on a plastic thing and stick it on the cake. (They have done this before so I was fine with it)

I picked up the cake at about 6 p.m. and this is how it looked.

Yes. The cake says "H B Chris" I am guessing it stands for Happy Birthday Chris, which isn't my moms name. Of course I realized this AFTER I got home and had 20 minutes to get ready and be at our dinner reservations (not to mention I still had the wrap the gift...)

I decided to just "erase" it and write my own. Luckily I has some yellow icing... When it was finished it looked like this.

So... it wasn't the most beautiful cake, but it tasted good.

This is the purse I got her for her birthday. I thought it was Super cute...

Book Review!!!

The Secret Life of Bees

Did I like it: Yeah. It was an easy read.

Should you read it? Sure.

This book its about a little girl named Lily Owens. Lily is a little girl living in South Carolina in the early 1960's (during segregation). The book is focused around Lily's search for answers about her mother. It's heartwarming and teaches you to look for love in all people, no matter how they look. The story is also centered around bees, which keeps it interesting...

Dinner with friends...

My friend Christina came home from school for the summer so David and I went to dinner with her and her boyfriend Ali. We had a lot of fun after we FINALLY decided where to go for dinner (we are all indecisive). We decided on Sushi.

We had a lot of fun. After Sushi Christina and I, along with our other friends Brittany and Gabby went to see the Midnight premier of Sex in the City. We had a lot of fun. The movie was great...
